5 Five-Minute Telugu Habits for Busy Families
4 min readRaising a bilingual child does not require hour-long lessons. A few minutes woven into your existing routine can make a real difference over months and years.
1. Name it in Telugu. As you go about your day, name three ordinary objects in Telugu — the spoon (చెంచా), the door (తలుపు), the light (దీపం).
2. One song at bedtime. Pick one short Telugu rhyme or lullaby and sing it every night. Repetition builds comfort.
3. Weekend word hunt. Once a week, pick a theme (fruits, animals, colors) and find five examples around your home while saying the Telugu word together.
4. Video call vocabulary. Before a call with grandparents, teach your child one new phrase to try out loud.
5. Celebrate small wins. When your child says even one Telugu word unprompted, celebrate it warmly — motivation matters more than perfection.
